San Antonio cops assisting with a DWI arrest had a close encounter with another suspected drunk driver after he slammed into their squad car.

SAPD says the officers were helping a DPS trooper with a DWI call near 281 and Josephine.

As they waited for a wrecker to take that first drunk driving suspect’s car, the second suspected drunk crashed into their patrol car.

The first DWI suspect was in the police car when the second DWI suspect hit and had to be taken to University Hospital.

None of the officers were injured.

The second alleged drunk driver was arrested on scene and will be charged with driving while intoxicated.
